# Concise Deliverables

When a brief sets a length limit ("does not exceed 3,000 words", "1-2 pages"), it is a hard constraint, not a suggestion. Exceeding it fails the criterion outright — and a verbose answer also dilutes the signal, burying the required content under methodology.

## Rules
- **Treat the limit as a ceiling you must stay under.** Count and verify before submitting.
- **Cut methodology that the reader didn't ask for.** A risk-assessment tool that the brief asked for doesn't need a 500-word preamble on risk theory; it needs the tool.
- **Density over volume.** Every sentence should carry a required fact or a necessary analysis. Filler exists to be cut.
- **When the limit is tight, lead with the required content.** Put the names, dates, citations, and named lists first; let reasoning fill the remaining space.

## The trap
Long answers feel thorough and score worse. The grading rubric rewards the presence of specific items, not the word count. A 1,500-word memo that hits every required citation beats a 3,500-word memo that misses two because it ran long.
