# Change Control

Change is inevitable; uncontrolled change is chaos. Change control makes every addition a conscious trade-off rather than silent scope creep.

## Process
1. **Log the change request.** What's being asked, by whom, why.
2. **Assess impact.** On scope, schedule, cost, risk. This is the analysis that informs the decision.
3. **Decide.** Approve, reject, or defer. The decision-maker is named (often the sponsor or change board).
4. **Update the baseline.** If approved, the plan, budget, and scope documents change to reflect the new reality.
5. **Communicate.** Everyone affected knows what changed and why.

## Spirit
Change control isn't obstruction — it's making additions visible. A fast lightweight process that's actually used beats a heavy one everyone circumvents.
