# Peer Review

Peer review improves work and guards quality. Done well it makes the work better; done poorly it delays good work and lets bad work through.

## Method
- **Summarize the contribution first.** Forces you to understand it before judging, and signals to the author you read it.
- **Major issues before minor.** Does the method answer the question? Do the results support the claims? Only then line-edit.
- **Be specific and actionable.** "The analysis is flawed" is useless; "Section 3.2 uses a t-test on paired data without checking normality" is useful.
- **Distinguish must-fix from nice-to-have.** Flag what blocks acceptance vs what would improve it.
- **Respect the author.** Tone costs you nothing and changes how the feedback lands.
