# Copywriting

The job of copy is to move the reader to act. Hype and superlatives ("revolutionary", "world-class") signal the writer had nothing concrete to say; specifics persuade.

## Principles
- **Lead with the benefit, prove with the feature.** "Cut your reporting time in half — our template auto-aggregates from 12 sources." Benefit first; the feature earns it.
- **One idea per sentence.** Compound sentences dilute. If a sentence has "and", consider splitting.
- **Strong verbs, weak adjectives.** "Slashes" beats "dramatically reduces". Concrete verbs do the persuading; adverbs patch over weak verbs.
- **Specificity over generality.** "Used by 4,000 SaaS finance teams" beats "loved by thousands".
- **End with a single, clear call to action.** Not three. Choice paralysis kills conversion.

## Edit
Halve it. Then halve the rest. Tight copy reads as confident; bloated copy reads as desperate.
