# Storytelling

A story is the oldest memory technology. Facts wrapped in narrative are remembered; facts alone are forgotten. Use it where you need a reader to *care*, not to dress up content that should just be a table.

## Structure
- **A character with a stake.** Not necessarily a person — could be "your team" or "the company". But someone specific the reader can picture, with something to lose.
- **A gap.** The distance between what they want and what they have. Without tension there's no story, just a status update.
- **A turn.** Something changes — a decision, an insight, a failure. The reader came for the change.
- **Resolution with a point.** The story exists to deliver an insight. If the insight works without the story, drop the story.

## Restraint
One story per point. Stacking anecdotes is just list-making in disguise.
