# Design Critique

Critique the work, not the person, and direct feedback at the problem the design is solving. Vague taste ("I don't like it") is useless; specific observation ("the two CTAs compete, I can't tell which is primary") is gold.

## Giving feedback
- **Against the goal.** "For a goal of fast checkout, the 3rd step feels like friction" — not "I'd make step 3 bigger".
- **Observe before judging.** "My eye goes to the logo first, then the form" describes; "the logo is too big" judges. Observations let the designer decide the fix.
- **Separate "is it right" from "do I like it".** A design can solve the problem in a style you personally dislike.

## Receiving feedback
- Don't defend. Listen, ask clarifying questions, take notes. Defending shuts down the honesty you need.
- You decide the fix. Feedback is input, not command.
