# Abstract Writing

The abstract is the only part most readers read. It must standalone: problem, method, result, implication — each in a sentence or two.

## Structure (≈200 words)
- **Background & gap.** One sentence on context; one on what's missing.
- **Question / hypothesis.** What this work asks.
- **Method.** How you addressed it, briefly.
- **Key result.** The specific, quantified finding. Not "results were positive" — the number.
- **Implication.** What it means; why it matters.

## Avoid
- Vague placeholders ("results will be discussed"). The abstract is the results, in compressed form.
- Overclaim. "Transforms the field" from one study invites skepticism and erodes trust.
