# Writing Deliverable Checklist

Written deliverables (articles, guides, editor's notes, accessibility guides, election info) are graded on literal presence of specific items, not prose quality. Run this checklist before submitting any writing task and confirm each.

## Universal checks
- **Named addressee / audience.** If the brief says "address to X" or implies a recipient, name them explicitly ("To: Sam", "for Priya").
- **Word count band.** If the brief gives a min/max (e.g. 800-1200), count and verify you are INSIDE the band — both the floor and the ceiling. Coming in under the minimum fails the criterion as surely as exceeding the max.
- **Every required section, labeled verbatim.** If the brief lists required sections (Introduction, Analysis, Conclusion, etc.), use those exact words as headings.
- **Named lists reproduced in full.** If the brief references a known framework by name (POUR principles, the 5 Ws, inverted pyramid), list each element by name — do not summarize.
- **Specific dates, times, URLs, and numbers from the brief.** Transcribe them verbatim, including the exact time (6:00AM-7:00PM), the exact date (June 14, 2025), and the exact URL (www.elections.virginia.gov). Paraphrasing a date or omitting it costs the point.
- **Source attribution.** Cite every factual claim to its source; include the source URL where one exists.

## Editor / accessibility-guide specific
- State all four WCAG POUR principles by name: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust.
- For each principle, give at least one concrete requirement: alt text for editorial images / decorative marking; captions for video (synchronized + accurate); transcripts for audio-only; do not rely on color alone.
- Plain language for mixed technical-literacy audiences.

## Election / civic-info specific
- State early-voting dates and end dates verbatim from the brief.
- State polling-place hours verbatim.
- Include the official elections URL.

## Final pass
Re-read the brief one more time and tick each concrete requirement. Anything unticked is a point lost.
